awesome, pickin up #1 after work today! thanks for posting the process, cool that you don't do too much with the line work and then go nuts with the brush pen, so much energy!

Very good work Sean ! very instructive.
Can you tell us how you work with references ? I've read that you were taking pictures to complete the page. What are the differents steps of your process ? From what i see, it looks like : Doing the rough thinking only to storytelling and page building, taking pictures for the more complexes postures, quickly pencil with a blue marker using refs, inking only the line, and putting the black masses using the refs back. Is this it ? Is the final step the longest one ? how long does it takes you ?

Sorry for the bad english, i am french :-)

fantastic work yet again, a pleasure to look at.

Sean could you answer one question please, Why use the blue marker in your process? its a niggling one sorry i had to ask!

will look forward to issue 2#

cheers!

I use blue marker to keep the drawings loose, and because I find blue pencil too waxy to ink over.
Laurent, you're right about my process.
This page, like most of the others, took about four hours to pencil and ink. Spent five minutes shooting the photo ref and a couple of hours getting easily distracted from working by looking at some comics and Googling myself.

thank you for sharing, sir

thank you for your answer, Sean.
4 hours, that's amazing !! I draw comics, here in france, and even if we have more panels i don't know any artist drawing so quickly. And i'm not talking about the quality ! I really like the realism you give with your use of black.
