Partial Inks

Swallow

It's been out for a while, but I just got my comp copies of Ash Wood's latest issue of Swallow. It's great to be in there with such illustrious company as Barren Storey, Ronnie Del Carmen and Andrew Robinson.

More Leo

Look-In

One of the dealers at the Bristol show, Phil Clarke was selling vintage British artwork from a variety of comics and magazines including Look-In. Charlie Adlard bought this beautiful piece by Arnaldo Putzu who painted most of the magazine's covers in the 1970's. Phil also had an amazing Putzu cover painting of Alvin Stardust. I was sorely tempted but didn't think I'd really want to see him staring down from my studio wall every day...

Coward UK

In case anyone was wondering, it looks like Coward won't be published in Britain until August. Titan won't be putting out their edition until then. Gosh Comics in London does have a very limited amount of the US edition though.

By the way, I haven't done any work today so here's another panel from Criminal #6, out in a couple of weeks...

Back Home

Just got back from the UK Comic Expo in Bristol held this past weekend. Had a good time, signed a lot of comics and drew a lot of sketches for fans and stayed up too late talking about comics. I spent the 3 hour train journey home reading Andrew Collins' third volume of autobiography.
Coincidentally, in the Guardian's Media section today, Andrew mentioned this blog as one he enjoys reading. It's a small world isn't it? Thanks to him for the plug...

Criminal #7

Working on the contents page today....
Still to colour the gun and keys and the left hand page will also have a detail of an interior panel dropped in later.

Bristol Comic Expo

I'm off the Bristol Comic Expo and this year I'm taking my son Jake. He has the latest issue of ROBOY finished and will have copies available for sale. Last time he sold out of the first print of #1 in about three hours so get in quick if you want Roboy's latest adventures. Second prints of #1 and #2 will also be available.
I'll be hawking my crap too including COWARD the new Criminal trade, Half Life my book of life drawings and a small selection of original art. We'll both be sketching and signing at our table all weekend and I also have a signing with Duncan Fegredo at the Travelling Man comic shop in Bristol at 4.30pm Friday afternoon.

One Year Old

I've been doing this blog for a year today. Every working day I've managed to post something, today it's more of my inks over Rick Leonardi's great pencils...

Criminal #7

Been thumbnailing Criminal as well today. Who knew I'd actually enjoy drawing car chases?

JLA Classified

I'm coming to the end of inking Rick Leonardi's pencils on JLA Classified. Here's half of a double page spread... The other half gives away a big plot point, so I'd better not show that.

World War Hulk Prologue: World Breaker

Out today, with art by Lee Weeks, Al Rio and a half dozen pages pencilled by me with inks by the legendery Tom Palmer. I just got to draw the boring talking pages, no Hulk...
